TAG, you’re it! Apply now for our Teacher Advisory Group

Are you passionate about hands-on education? Are you interested in getting your hands on the latest robotics technology before it even hits the market? Do you like the idea of using your classroom expertise to shape products that will be used by educators around the globe? Are you active with colleagues, peers, and education organizations on Twitter or Facebook?

Then you might be a fit for our Teacher Advisory Group (TAG). Its back again in 2018 and stronger than ever with you participating.

Make a Difference in the Future of Education

The purpose of TAG is to provide feedback on classroom activities, products, and curricula and generate ideas for Pitsco. Many of the efforts will be featured on Pitsco’s website, in marketing materials, and on social media. TAG members provide valuable recommendations from the field and are an essential part of our design process.

For example, this year several of our current TAG members were the first to receive a prototype of our new TETRIX® PULSE™ Robotics Controller. Michelle Smith, STEM lab teacher at Tucker Creek Middle School, was one of our TETRIX PULSE beta testers.

“It was exciting to work with the TETRIX PULSE Robotics Controller this summer. Because it is so small, I can see my students incorporating it into almost any build,” Michelle said. Thanks to her input, along with testers Aaron Maurer and Carrie Wilson Herndon, we were able to release a perfected version of the PULSE controller in September.

And we’re not done innovating yet. We have many robotics projects slated for 2018. If you truly want to be the first to know, apply to be on our 2018 TAG team.

Although robotics will be an area of focus in the upcoming year, we’re looking for educators who have experience with any of our product lines. If you spend your days launching straw rockets, helping students tweak CO2 car designs, or supervising the testing of the sturdiest of structures, we’re looking for you. Do you have a makerspace? We’d love to learn how you’re making it a successful experience for students.

Connect with Other Educators

Another important aspect of TAG is networking with other educators and sharing how STEM functions in your classroom, as well as giving input on a wide range of educational topics. To accomplish this, the most qualified TAG applicants will be very active on social media, especially Twitter. You must enjoy engaging with and sharing educational content.

Eligible TAG applicants are currently employed or actively involved in an education field. Prior knowledge of Pitsco Education products is preferred but not required. Were accepting applications now through November 12, 2017.
